WHO AM I?

At some point in their lives, every human being on planet earth asks the question: ‘Who am I?’  Everyone does.  The Who did, and still do:

‘I asked Bobby Dylan,
I asked the Beatles;
I asked Timothy Leary –
but he couldn’t help me either.
They call me “The Seeker”…’

Having asked the question of greatest significance to their own lives, people then ask the second question: ‘Who are you?’

‘Tell me – who are you?’

Identity is the burning issue at the heart of every human being from the dawn of time until now.  Many people experiment to find out who they are – but they are confusing doing with being and don’t get answers.  Who can help us find the answers?

It is in Jesus that we discover who we truly are.  He is our creator, and so he is best placed to tell us who we are and what we mean to him.  Finding out who we are is a journey – not one discovery; it is a way of life – not one event.  That is why our church life that happens week upon week is very important to us.  We help each other along the way and support and strengthen each other as we seek to discover more of who Jesus and who we are.  We know that this journey of exploration lasts a lifetime, and so we rejoice in our relationships with each other as we rejoice in our relationship with God.
