Men's Walk from Elie to Anstuther

We set out at around 9:00 am stopping only briefly for a McDonalds. This got us thinking of the amazing scenery and the packed lunches we had packed.

Around 10:30 in the morn, we landed at our destination Elie a beautiful town - sprung from the Greek word, ‘elos’ meaning 'the middle of nowhere' or island.

We set out looking forward to all the beautiful pictures we would take. Being highly organized we had 3 camera's between us. None of these worked due to the batteries being dead in all of them so we got 6 pictures.

From here we started the hike across a seven mile stretch between Elie and Anstruther.(Kenny said it was six but who's counting) We got about 2 miles and decided to stop to eat (already).

We also managed to pick up some batteries for one of the cameras but they did not work, we got more making it possible to take more pictures.

After this we took off ploughing on hard to Anstruther. We passed through St.Mona ns which was beautiful but all I remember was my feet hurting.

Then someone mentioned that the fish suppers where the best in Scotland so we picked up the pace

It was not long before we reached Pittenween. By this time I did not care what it meant unless it was french for taxi.

As we rounded the last corner we could smell the fish. Well it was a fishing town so it was not to nice. Any way a bit further and you could smell that beautifully aroma of battered fish and chips.

10 minutes later we were outside the Anstruther fish bar - Only the award winning best chip shop in Scotland.

After the best fish and chips we have ever had we talked about moving on but instead decided to have ice cream.

After this we started back for Elie, all because we could not find the bus stop or a taxi.

In the distance we could see a ruined castle at the start point of the journey. It looked like it was at the other side of the forth. At this point I felt like giving up and phoning to be airlifted home. All I would need to do was break my already numb legs.

Anyway after hours of walking and around 30 stops we made it back to the car. I don't how we got there we just did, I think I passed out.

Anyway to cut a long story short I think there was a look of disappointment on our wives faces when we all arrived home safely.

I will end this tale of mishap and miss fortune by saying if I ever go back there I'm taking my wheelchair and getting another bag of those wonderful Fish and Chippy Wippies.
